I need someone that knows how to properly convert a .wmv into a .gif.

I've chopped down the file, converted it to a .flv then to a .gif but it runs slower than hell. I've tried several programs to speed it up, no luck there. I even tried making them still-pictures and using only 4, still runs slow.
